This is not your average Vinho Verde! From a region mostly know for salty, super acidic wines comes a Vinho Verde with a tropical flair! From an interior sub region known for the famed Alvarinho grape, this wine is super fresh but also incredibly tropical -think pineapple, stone fruit and honey. Lots of minerality too. Lip smacking good! (No oak.)
Winemaker: Miguel Queimado rehabbed his family's 200 year old winery to farm only one grape - the famed Alvarinho. While many producers blend this grape in with others, Miguel focuses on just Alvarinho to let us see just how versatile and delicious this grape is on its own.
Wine Region: Vinho Verde, from the subregion of Monçao e Melgaço,
Varietals: 100% Alvarinho!
Pairings: This wine pairs incredibly well with seafood and also handles heat well. Try spicy Indian, Thai or something with Portugal's famed piri piri hot sauce.
